Dear Chairwoman Poindexter and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Antonio Gaspar of Council District 7 to the Veterans
Advisory Committee. Mr. Gaspar served in the United States Army from1969 — 1971
and retired from the Hawai'i Army National Guard after more than 30 years of service
(1971 —2004). In addition to being retired from the Hawai'i Army National Guard,
Mr. Gaspar also retired from Enterprise Holdings where he was a maintenance tech for
approximately 12 years. Mr. Gaspar is currently employed as a transporter for Hertz
Car Rental.
Mr. Gaspar is an active member of our community and volunteers with various veterans
organizations especially with the American Legion and the Big Island Retired Military
Association (BIRMA).
Mr. Gaspar has been a resident of Hawai'i for the past 48 years.
Mr. Gaspar states he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will serve
a term ending December 31, 2020.
