HAIHAI STREET— NO PARKING AT ANYTIME `REVISION
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5 (Parking),
Section 24-280, Schedule 28 (No parking at anytime), paragraph (c) South Hilo be
amended by revising existing item:
• Haihai Street, ak- a-slde; etween-the-entf-anGe and exit-of-th-e-1-4+le-Municipal
Ciel•-Coarse FROM IWALANI STREET TO KILAUEA AVENUE.

Traffic Code Amendments — Haihai Street cont'd
The primary intent of this amendment is to restrict parking to address concerns by the
Department of Parks and Recreation. The main.issue is that Hilo Municipal Golf
Course (HMGC) patrons park along portions of the subject area creating a safety
concern due to the narrow shoulders. In addition, because Haihai Street will be the
location of and primary road used by the future fire station, we want to keep the
shoulders in the area clear for motorists to pull over as required during emergencies.
