SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT:
MOHOULI STREET— NO PARKING AT ANYTIME ADDITION
We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5 (Parking),
Section 24-280, Schedule 28 (No parking at anytime), paragraph (c) South Hilo be
amended by adding new item:
• MOHOULI STREET, NORTHWEST (HAMAKUA) SIDE, FROM A POINT FOUR
HUNDRED TWENTY-THREE FEET NORTHEAST OF KUPUNA STREET AND
EXTENDING SEVEN HUNDRED SIXTY FEET IN THE SOUTHWESTERLY
DIRECTON.

Traffic Code Amendments — Mohouli Street cont'd
The intent of this amendment is to restrict parking to address a concern posed by Keith
Kato of the Hawaii Island Community Development Corporation. The primary issue is
that parked vehicles along Mohouli Street related to the construction of Phase 2 of the
Mohouli Heights Senior Neighborhood could impede visibility for people exiting the
property via Kupuna Street.
