SUBJECT: A Bill for an Ordinance Amending Chapter 15, Article 9, of the Hawai`i County
Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as Amended),Relating to Farmers Markets.
Attached is a bill for an ordinance to amend Chapter 15, Article 9, of the Hawai`i County Code
1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), relating to farmers markets. This bill would make the
following changes to the existing law:
•
1. In section 15-72, create a schedule for farmers markets that is consistent in format with
the parks and recreational facility schedule in section 15-68.1;
2. In section 15-72, remove references to "Waimea" and"Kona" and instead designate
farmers markets in the schedule by name of the park or facility where the market would
be located; and
3. In subsection 15-73(c), replace "a purchase of services contract"with"an agreement"
and make other nonsubstantive changes to the language of this subsection.
