Dear Chairman Arakaki:
Subject: Transfering of Funds
We would appreciate your review and approval of our request to transfer
$2,700 from the County Clerk's Office, Election Division Miscellaneous
Contractual Services account #010-107-5107.02-115. We are requesting
$2,500 be transferred into the Travel account #010-107-5107.02-104 and
$200 into the Electricity account #010-107-5107.02-114.
The transfer of funds will enable us to cover the expected shortfall in the
Travel account due to staff's participation in the 1998 review of General
Election ballots. The shortage in the Electricity account was due to the new
policy by the D.O.E. for use of electricity during election training classes.
Elections System and Software, the vendor responsible for cost of the 1998
review of General Elections ballots, will refund the County of Hawaii its
expenses.
