h Comm., 395 : APPROPRIATIpN OF STATE AND. FEDERAL GRANTS FOR
(Bill 757) SUPERCOLD FREEZER FACILITY
From Director of Finance Stanley A. Nakamae dated
July 20, 1981, submitting an ordinance bill to
appropriate $8, 800 received from the State of Hawaii
and $211,200 to be received from the Economic
Development Administration for construction of a super-
cold freezer. Informs this is a demonstration project
to test the feasibility of preserving local food
products by freezing them at sub-zero temperatures.
The Research & Development Department is administering
the project through the initial stages, but actual
operation will be transferred to a non-profit organization;
(FC-96: Refer to EDC to obtain additional information
on the supercold freezer facility from the Department
of Research & Development. )
recommends Bill 757 be passed by the Council on first reading.
