`Comm. 783 : GEOTHERMAL DEVELOPMENT AT KAHAUALE'A
From Councilwoman Helene H. Hale dated April 29, 1982,
transmitting copy of a letter she received from David B.
Ames, Superintendent, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park,
expressing concerns regarding the negative impacts a
major geothermal development at Kahauale' a, planned by
the Trustees of the Estate of James Campbell, may have
on the natural resources of the Park;
recommends a resolution be prepared and introduced supporting the
administration's position to request the Board of Land and Natural
Resources to defer action on the Campbell geothermal development at
Kahauale' a to allow all interested parties sufficient time to review the
EIS and ask to have another public hearing at a later date.
