Your Committee on Economic Development to which was referred:
4u, Comm. 895 : UNIVERSITY O ' HAWAII AT HILO (M-41/EDC-29)
From H. Stuart Kearns, Director of Research and
Development, dated July 2, 1982, informing they
support the continuous growth of the University
of Hawaii at Hilo because of its contribution to
the life of our community as well as to our Big
Island economy.
Suggests that the UH-Hilo administration meet with
the Economic Development Committee. at one of its
regular meetings in order to review basic information
about the University's present input into the Big
Island economy, as an important first step to review
actual activities in which the County can participate
in order to support the future development of the UH
at Hilo;
recommends the communication be placed on file; and request the Research &
Development Director to keep the Council informed. on the conference being
planned on the expansion possibilities and economic impact of the University
of Hawaii at Hilo.
