Your Committee on Economic Development to which was referred:
Res. 430: GEOTHERMAL ENERGY PROJECTS IN PUNA
Supports the study recommended by the State Geothermal
Energy Advisory Committee on the quality of air in the
East Rift Zone of Kilauea Volcano in preparation for
setting standards for :future geothermal energy projects
in Puna; and requests the State Department of Planning
and Economic Development to allocate the necessary funds
for immediate implementation.
Also asks that the contractor who is appointed to do
the baseline studies make a separate environmental
study of the demonstration geothermal project at Pohoiki;
(Intr. by: Mr. Dahlberg)

recommends the fifth paragraph of Resolution 430 be amended to read as
follows:
"BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the contractor who is appointed to do the.
baseline studies be asked to make a separate environmental study of the
demonstration geothermal project at Pohoiki. "
Further recommends Resolution 430, as revised, be adopted by the Council.
