Comm. 697 . 8: ACQUISITION OF NEW SITE FOR COUNTY OPERATIONS
From EDC Chairman Frank De Luz, III, transmitting for
information, a copy of letter to Deputy Managing Director
Barney Menor from Al M. Inoue, Principal Broker,
Inoue-Hawaii Realty Corporation, dated September 16 , 1982,
responding to a request for a report on the proposed
renovation of the old Hilo Hospital for the County
Prosecuting Attorney' s Office versus the purchase of
13 ,603 square feet of office space at the Quality Inn -
Hilo Lagoon Hotel; (Report by Appraiser Robert G.
Bloom, Jr. attached)
recommends the "Analysis of Old Hilo Hospital" prepared by Appraiser
Robert G. Bloom, Jr. be referred to the administration for review,
analysis and comment on the struct _ral condition of the old Hilo Hospital
in its entirety and request that a report be submitted as soon as possible.
Authorization isgranted to the administration:,to have appraisals done by
independent structural engineers should they feel it necessary.
Further recommends that the moratorium on any renovation of the building
be extended until the study is completed by the administration.
