Your Committee on Economic Development, to which was referred House ,
Concurrent Resolution No. 84, reports as follows:
The purpose of this concurrent resolution is to request the Mayor and
Chairman of the Hawaii County Council to jointly assemble an Economic
Transition Team to assist displaced sugar workers of Puna Sugar
Company in finding other employment when the company ceases
operations in September.
Your Committee on Economic Development is in accord with the intent
and purpose of House Concurrent Resolution No. 84 and recommends that
the Council concur in establishing an economic transition assistance
