Your Committee on Economic Development, to which was referred
Communications 1601 .1 and 1601 . 2, submitting the appointments of members
to the Economic Transition Assistance Team reports as follows:
The purpose of these appointments is to carry out the request of
H.C.R. 84 of the Twelfth Legislature of the State of Hawaii , Regular
Session of 1984, that the Mayor and Council of the County of Hawaii
assemble an Economic Transition Assistance Team to investigate, develop,
and endorse a plan to assist residents directly affected by the closing
of the Puna Sugar Company.
The Economic Transition Assistance Team as designated by communications
1601 .1 and 1601. 2 have been recommended by various departments and
agencies and are listed as follows:
