Subject: In support of Bill 13, please ban polystyrene
Importance: High
I am writing in support of Bill 13. We need to be proactive on protecting the environment in simple ways such as
banning Our environment is under assault with global climate change and pollution, and we owe it to
future generations to do what we can. Stopping the use of possibly carcinogenic polystyrene just makes sense. Yes,
food vendors will have to add a few cents cost for biodegradeable food containers, but that is a small price to pay. We
can stop adding polystyrene to our trash, and help preserve our precious reefs and ocean at the same time.
As a thirty plus year resident of Kona and a certified scuba diver I am very aware of the problems our reefs face. This is
one thing we can do right now to help,and it is the right thing to do. Please support this bill, and thank you for listening
to my comments.
