Comm. 41: S I GN VARIANCE - HILO COAST 'PROCESSING COMPANY
From Terris H. Inglett, Executive Vice President
and Chief Executive Officer, Hilo Coast Processing
Company, dated December 19 , 1980, requesting a
variance from Article 3, Regulation of Signs,
Section 1 (c) Permissible Signs (Farming Districts),-
Chapter 10 of the Hawaii County Code, on the size
and location of the sign to allow the use of a
large, discarded sugar mill gear as the base for
their company name to direct visitors who have
an interest in their biomass electricity program;

March 24, 1981, requesting re uestin reconsideration of the

initial comments and recommendsapproval of the
sign variance request, provided that the conditions,
as listed, be complied with;
recommends Council approve the sign variance request of
Hilo Coast Processing Company,. subject, :to the following conditions :
1. A sign permit be obtained from the Bureau of Building
Construction and. Inspection; and
2. The sign should conform to all requirements of the State
Highways Division and any other agency.
