Your Subcommittee on Beautification submits for approval, the following
report:
Comm. 259 : BEAUTIFICATION PLAN
From Councilman William S. Kawahara dated April 29,
1981transmittinga letter from C. P. Kreitzer, dated
April 24 , 1981,. concerning the Council ' s beautification
plan;
recommends the communication be referred to administration to take the
necessary action to rectify the traffichazards as pointed out in
Mr. Kreitzer 's letter.
Comm. 303: OPERATION BEAUTIFICATION
From Councilman William S. Kawahara dated ..May 12, 1981
submitting additional parameters for Operation
Beautification, Phase I;

recommends Operation Beautification, Phase I, be approved and referred
to administration for implementation.

Comm. 304 : IMPROVEMENT OF ROAD SHOULDERS FOR PEDESTRIANS AND
BIKING
From Councilman William S. Kawahara dated May 12, 1981
recommending that greater emphasis should be placed in
our road programs to widen and smooth road shoulders
for better and safer use for walking, jogging and
cycling. Informs the providing of wide, smooth road
shoulders is an important part of the beautification
program in which the initiative and leadership must
be taken by government;
recommends the communication be referred to administration for imple-
mentation.

Res. 114 : BEAUTIFICATION CAMPAIGN (Rec. 3/PWC-47)
Urges the implementation of a beautification campaign
under the guidance of the Beautification Coordinator,
Mr. Hardy Iida, and that this county-wide campaign
be appropriately named "HO' ONANI HAWAI' I", which when
translated means "to beautify Hawaii" .
