Subject: Comments on Property Tax Exemptions
Aloha All !
I agree and support the property tax exemptions for people 60 years and older. However, as Councilperson Chung
mentioned, Hawaii Island does get a lot of seniors moving from the Mainland and who get the property tax exemption
almost immediately.
I suggest that in order to receive any tax exemption, a person needs to be full time resident and live on the Island for at
least 1 year.
