It's highly discriminatory to people that own vehicles that use petroleum based fuels, while ignoring the people that have electric vehicles. These electric vehicles use the roadways too, yet they only pay for registration and licensing fees. The County should start taxing the use of electric vehicle charging stations to even out the taxation of all people who drive. As it stands this is a violation of the equal protection clause in the Constitution. Maybe a better solution would be to have toll roads on this islands. At least it would be based purely on mileage driven, and not by the type of vehicles you own. Toll booths should be at the borders of the districts, in one direction only. I don't have any other fair solution to the County's financial problems, but taxing our way out of it is wrong. If all else fails, cut the budget.
