Subject: Gas Tax Increase
Honorable members of the Council,
It appears from what I read and hear, that raising the gas tax is inevitable. I have heard no member state that Hawaii
county needs to start living within it's budget, it is just always, raise the tax. So, if you are going to do this to the poor
people who can least afford it, those living in lower Puna in particular, then the least that you can do is require language
in the bill to demand that waste and poor planning be avoided at all costs. No more projects delayed because permits
run out, no more companies working on 2 or 3 different projects and moving men and material around to quiet the most
vocal complaints. The list could go on and on. Please cut the waste and let us all live within our means.
Respectfully,
K Deehr
