Honorable Council members,
Our property taxes are the highest of all the island counties. People making far more money than us are paying about
half of what we pay on a per thousand basis
Big Island - homeowner$6.15
Maui - homeowner$2.70

Honolulu - residential $3.50 =r-
Kauai - homestead $3.05 r;)
Why do we have the most expensive _-
property taxes and Kim wants to increase them even more?
We are the poorest county

Is it to subsidize Hele-on?
To the tune of$11 per rider,
per trip?
We have a bus fleet where half the buses are not functional?
That is irrational.
Most non-union people here
haven't had a raise in years. I'm on a fixed income. I don't get raises.
I'll probably start on Social security
next year, they get maybe a 0.5 percent
COLA raise per year at best.
I strongly oppose increasing
property taxes!
Per your agenda I like Councilman Chung's Comm 293.1, personally I'd consider it a demand! To bad he couldn't
filibuster.

our money! I'd be happy to make
suggestions of where to cut,
however this is not the correct
forum for that.
Thank you for your time.
