Subject: Allow local markets in parks
The essence of building community and local resilience to disasters is in allowing residents to gather in community parks
to share produce and goods made on their farms and homes.The Wailea- Hakalau community has been brought
together in so many ways by our Foodshare. Benefits include community members volunteering for other local events
such as cleanups and Mochi festival and feeding elders;friendships and support of those who get sick and new mothers;
improved local food growth and purchase and support of small farms.
I just heard of the need for testimony so am sending this from my phone last minute!
