BUS FARE RATE INCREASE PROPOSAL POR THE
HELE-ON 'BUSSYSTEM
From Transit Coordinator Barney B. Menor, dated
December 24 , 1981, transmitting the concerns and
comments expressed at the public hearings held
on November 30, December 1, and December 8, 1981
on theproposed fare rate increase for the
Hawaii County Mass Transit System. Informs the
results of these hearings indicated no opposition
to the increase and recommends the final adoption
and implementation of the proposed fare rate
increase (Proposal B) for the Hele-On bus system.
Request the Council to provide the MTA a minimum
of thirty days to coordinate and prepare
implementation of the proposed new fare rates;
recommends Council:
(1) Adopt Resolution 236 pending before the Council (PWC-101) ,
recommending the implementation of the Mass Transportation Agency' s
zoned fare proposal (Proposal B) for the Hele-On System;
(2)
(2) Grant MTA .a minimum of thirty days to coordinate and prepare
implementation of the proposed new fare rates; and
(3) Request MTA to follow up on the various concerns and suggestions
expressed at the public hearings on the proposed fare rates .
