Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred:
Res. 273 : RENAMING OF HOOLULU SWIM STADIUM -
CHARLES "S PARKY" KAWAMOTO
Recognizing the many contributions "Sparky"
Kawamoto has made to the sport of swimming,
endorses the proposal that the Hoolulu Swim
Stadium or the NAS Swimming Pool be renamed
the Charles "Sparky" Kawamoto Swim Stadium to
honor one of Hawaii' s greatest swimming coaches;

recommends the sixth paragraph of Resolution 273 be amended to read
as follows:
•
"NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that in recognition of the many contributions 'Sparky' Kawamoto has
made to the sport of swimming, hereby endorses the proposal that the
Hoolulu Swim Stadium [or the NAS swimming pool] be renamed the
CHARLES 'SPARKY' KAWAMOTO SWIM STADIUM to honor one of Hawaii 's
greatest swimming coaches. "
- Further recommends Council adopt Resolution 273, as revised.
