Your Committee on Public Works to which was referred:
Comm. 1376: SIGN VARIANCE REQUEST - KONA SURF DIRECTIONAL SIGN
From Robert N. Herkes, General Manager , Kona Surf
Hotel, dated September 21, 1983 , requesting a
variance from the minimum one (1) square foot size
requirement for a sign to be placed on the southern
corner of Alii Drive and Kaleopapa road to provide
direction to the Kona Surf Hotel.
/t. 1376.1: From Chief Engineer Edward Harada dated December 1,
1983 , informing they have reviewed the subject sign
variance request and recommends that: (1) the
location of
the proposed sign be approved; and (2)
the proposed sign area be limited to two square feet;
recommends Council accept the recommendation of the Chief Engineer
that the location of the proposed Kona Surf Sign be approved and the
size be limited to 2 square feet.
