Your Committee on Public Works, to which was referred Bill No. 1092
entitled "An Ordinance Amending Article 10, Chapter 24, of the Hawaii
County Code 1983 Relating to Traffic Regulations" , reports as follows:
- The purpose of this bill is to establish parking restrictions on
Hanama Place in Kailua, Kona, in order to allow an unobstructed
access of emergency vehicles.
Your committee has received testimony indicating that the proposed
"No Parking Anytime" zone at the end of Hanama Place has been
initiated at the request of our Fire Department in order to provide
sufficient space for maneuvering fire and emergency vehicles. This
request has been reviewed and approved by the County Highway Safety
Council at its meeting of April 10, 1984.
Your Committee on Public Works concurs with the intent and purpose of
Bill No. 1092 and recommends that it pass fi st reading.
