Your Committee on Public Works, to which was referred Resolution
No. 937-84, reports as follows :
• Resolution 937-84 authorizes the County of Hawaii to enter into
eminent domain proceedings to condemn and acquire certain lands
necessary for public purpose and use in the construction, operation,
and maintenance of a drainage channel for flood control purposes in
the Keopu Heights Subdivision, Keopu, North Kona.
Your committee has been advised that negotiated land acquisition of
two (2) of the nine (9) property owners affected by the new alignment
of the project have failed or is being delayed and that acquisition
by eminent domain is necessary.
Your Committee on Public Works concurs with the intent of Resolution
No. 937-84 and recommends its adoption.
