The purpose of Bill 1109 is to update the Plumbing Code of the

proposes for adoption a number of amendments which tailors the UPC
82 to local and climatic reguirements.
Your Committee has received written testimony (Communication 1670)
from the Department of Public Works indicating that the proposed
code and its amendments have been reviewed by the Plumbing Code
Review Committee. This Review Committee is composed of licensed
plumbing contractors , a mechanical engineer, a civil engineer, a
material supplier, a representative of the plumbing trades, a
representative from the gas company, and a representative of our
Department of Water Supply.
Communication 1670 also highlights the significant differences
between the existing Plumbing Code and that proposed by Bill 1109 .
