RESOLUTION NO. 237 17
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A MULTI-
YEAR PROJECT BASED HOUSING ASSISTANCE PAYMENT AGREEMENT
WITH MOHOULI SENIOR PHASE 2, LLLP, OWNER OF THE MOHOULI
SENIOR RESIDENCES PHASE 2
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease
or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year
or of more than one fiscal year, be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) is
seeking to implement a County project based housing assistance payment agreement to
subsidize Mohouli Senior Residences Phase 2 ("Project"); and
WHEREAS, funds will be appropriated for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the County project based housing assistance payment
agreement is to provide housing assistance payment as needed for the tenants at Mohouli
Senior Residences Phase 2; and
WHEREAS, the OHCD would like to assist thirty (30) units in the Project under
n available forpurpose;the funding a aiab e this rpo ,p and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai'i wishes to enter into a multi-year agreement
with Mohouli Senior Phase 2,LLLP, owner of the Project ("Owner"); and
WHEREAS, the OHCD is requesting authorization for the Mayor to enter into a
multi-year agreement with the Owner of the Project; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI'I
that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a multi-year agreement with Owner.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that sufficient federal and County funds will be
budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the
terms of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY FURTHER RESOLVED, that the County Clerk shall forward
a copy of this resolution to the Office of Housing and Community Development.
