RESOLUTION NO. 247 17
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION
OF SEVEN (7) BUSES FROM THE CITY AND COUNTY OF
HONOLULU
WHEREAS, the City and County of Honolulu is donating seven (7) retired
buses to the County of Hawai'i's Mass Transit Agency; and
WHEREAS, the buses will be used to provide island-wide public transportation
and to increase the County's spare bus ratio; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that
any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the
capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by
resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai'i's Mass Transit Agency recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the
County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY°RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Wes Frysztacki, Director, Department of Transportation, City
and County of Honolulu, Frank Fasi Municipal Building, 650 South King Street, 3rd
Floor, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813-3017.
