Your Committee on Planning to which was referred:
Comm. 737 : "A CONFERENCE FOR HAWAII GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS
INTERESTED OR INVOLVED IN ALTERNATE ENERGY"
From Councilwoman Helene H. Hale dated April 6 , 1982 ,
transmitting a report on "A Conference for Hawaii
Government Officials Interested or Involved in Alternate
Energy" which she attended on April 1 and 2, 1982, and
submits recommendations _as a result of this conference;
recommends Council accept the recommendations that: (_l) the Department
of Public Works be requested to review the. Housing Code in _te.rmsof its
hindrance, to the development of residential energy self-sufficiency�
(2) the Planning Department be requested to review the codes to determine
whether or not there are any hindrances in thepresentlaws to the
development of residential self-sufficiency in the Zoning and Subdi.vi.sion.
Codes; and (3) the Council resurrect the study that was done for the
County departments on how they could saVe energy costs and request a
report from the administration on the implementationof this report.
