Comm. 958 : LEGISLATIVE PROGRAM
From Councilwoman Helene H. Hale. dated September 30,
1982 , suggesting that one of the issues that the
Hawaii County Council could consider, prior to the
HSAC meeting in December when its legislative program
will be discussed, is the matter of urging the
Legislature to follow through on the mandate of the
1978 Constitutional Convention to set up a Tax Review
Commission as outlined in Article VII:,. . Section 3.
Understands the Commission was appointed by the
Governor as required by law, but the last Legislature
refused to fund an adequate study;
recommends proposal be accepted as part of the 1983 legislative package
and that the legislative committee pursue it either through the Hawaii
State Association of Counties or through its lobbying efforts at the State
Legislature..
