Your Committee on Planning to which was referred Bill No. 1077
entitled: "An Ordinance Amending Section 25-251, Article 21,
Chapter 25 (Zoning Code) , of the Hawaii County Code 1983 , As Amended,
Relating to Planned Unit Development" , reports as follows:
The purpose of this bill is to add a new subsec-tion relating to
provisions of the height limit under the Planned Unit Development
(PUD) process.
Previously,. PUDs were processed by the Planning Commission. The
guidelines for granting additional heights through the PUD process
were specified under PlanningCommission Rule No. 7 . However , PUDs

are now processed administratively by the Planning Director . Thus ,
this bill transfers the height requirements in Planning Commission
Rule No . 7 into the Zoning Code .
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the intent and purpose
of Bill No. 1077 and recommends that it pass first reading .
