Your Committee on Planning to which was referred Bill No. 1079
entitled: "An Ordinance Amending Section 25-62, Article 1 ,
Chapter 25 (Zoning Code) , of the Hawaii County Code 1983 , As Amended,
Relating to Supplementary Yard and Open Space" , reports as follows :
The purpose of this bill is to clarify certain lots that may require
more than one setback with regard to zoning requirements.
Presently, all lot lines abutting the roadways are considered front
property lines, thus certain lots may require more than one front
yard setback. This bill would allow a minimum of one front setback
for a building proposed on a lot with more than one frontage within
the office commercial (CO) , village commercial (CV) , and general
commercial (CG) districts. This bill also stipulates that the
location of the front yard setbacks be based on traffic and related
impacts by the development.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the 'intent and purpose
of Bill No. 1079 and recommends that i pa -first -ading .
