Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No . 1094
regarding a condition amendment of Lanihau Corporation,
TMK: 7-5-04:10 and 28, reports as follows :
The purpose of this bill is to amend Condition C of zoning Ordinance
No. 566 which changed the district classification of a Village
Commercial - 10, 000 square foot (CV-10) and Resort-Hotel - 1, 250
square foot (V--1. 25) to a General Commercial - 20, 000- square foot
(CG-20) zoned district at Lanihau 1st and 2nd, North Kona, Hawaii .
At the initial rezoning request, the developer proposed to use Ololi
Road as one of the accesses to the proposed shopping center
development. Consequently, the imposition of Condition C requiring
improvements to Ololi Road from Kuakini Highway was recommended by
the Department of Public Works. Since then, however , the developer ' s
plans have changed and now proposes access to the shopping complex
from Palani Road and Queen Kaahumanu Highway.
The proposed amendment to Condition C abandons a portion of Ololi
Road (the old Honokohau Road) and requires the construction of a
physical barrier to preclude the use of Ololi Road.
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the intent and purpose
of Bill No . 1094 and recommends that it pass first reading; further?

It was moved, seconded and carriedto
