Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 1096
regarding the rezoning request of Shiro Takata, TMK: 5-5-09 :57 ,
reports as follows :
The purpose of this bill is to change the district classification
from a Single Family Residential - 15 , 000 square foot (RS-15 ) to a
Village Commercial - 10, 000 square foot (CV-10). zoned district at
Hawi , North Kohala, Hawaii .
The applicant intends to provide an additional cesspool, pursuant to
State Department of Health requirements, for the Kohala Laundromat
situated adjacent to the subject property. However, the land area on
which the laundromat is situated cannot accommodate the additional
cesspool . As such, the applicant must use the subject property on
which to construct the cesspool .
The Planning Director has indicated that the requested zone change
conforms to the General Plan Land Use Pattern Allocation Guide
(LUPAG) Map which designates the area for Medium Density Urban
Development. This designation allows Village Commercial use .
Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the intent and purpose
