No. 234-17 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 3:14 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Res. No. 234-17, <br /> reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 234-17, transmitted by Public Works Director Frank De Marco, via Communication 344 <br /> dated June 16, 2017, accepts the dedication of Kohanaiki Frontage Road, identified as Tax Map Keys: <br /> (3) 7-3-009:066 and (3) 7-3-009:067, situated at Kohanaiki, District of North Kona, Island and County <br /> of Hawai`i, State of Hawaii from Kohanaiki Shores LLC, a Delaware limited liability company and <br /> Rutter/KW Kohanaiki LLC, a Hawai`i limited liability company. <br /> Kohanaiki Shores is desirous of dedicating the above roadways and all improvements thereon to the <br /> County of Hawai`i for roadway purposes, and the roadways and improvements have been inspected and <br /> approved by the Department of Public Works, and received dedication approval from the Department of <br /> Water Supply, the Planning Department and the Department of Environmental Management. <br /> Deputy Corporation Counsel Ron Kim was in the Hilo Council Chambers to answer questions. Council <br /> Member Eoff said that Frontage Road stops at the Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Park border and <br /> restarts at the O`oma development border. She questioned whether the gap will be opened up for the <br /> public, so they could have a route parallel to the existing highway. Mr. Kim did not know the answer <br /> and said State Highways may be involved, and they would be asked.
