Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Res. No. 235-17,
reports as follows:
Resolution No. 235-17, transmitted by Public Works Director Frank De Marco,via Communication 345
dated June 16, 2017, requests approval of a variance from Chapter 3, Section 3-10(a) Hawai`i County
Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), to allow one ground sign at 1285 Waianuenue Avenue, Hilo,
Hawai'i, Tax Map Key: (3) 2-3-031:019 (zoned "RS"Residential District). The sign exceeds the six
square feet area limitation set forth in the County Code.
There were no questions about this approval request.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and intent of
Resolution No. 235-17, and recommends its adoption.
