Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 242-17, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 242-17, transmitted by Council Chair Valerie T. Poindexter, via Communication
No. 365 dated July 14, 2017, authorizes the Office of the Mayor to enter into an agreement with
Ho`opono Services for the Blind, Department of Human Services, State of Hawai`i.
This agreement would provide for permits for vending machines to be located at the Public Works
Department's Traffic Division baseyards in East Hawai`i and West Hawai`i.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Pursuant to Section 46-7 of the Hawai`i Revised Statutes, the Mayor of the County of Hawai`i is
authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement and related documents with
Ho`opono Services for the Blind, Department of Human Services, State of Hawai`i, State of
Hawai`i for a permit for vending machines.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 242-17,
and recommends its adoption.
