Your Committee on Finance to which was referred :
/ Comm. 87 : TRANSFER OF FUNDS TO PURCHASE AMBULANCES
(Res . 37) From Director of Finance Stanley A . Nakamae dated
January 30, 1981 informing, by agreement between the
County and the State Department of Health for the
provision of emergency medical service for the fiscal
year ended June 30, 1980, the County was required to
update the ambulances at Kailua-Kona and Keaau and
replace the State ambulance at Waimea . Funds for
purchase of these ambulances were not provided because
of other pressing needs and the uncertainty of the
extension of general revenue sharing . Now that general
revenue sharing has been reauthorized, the Fire
Department 's salaries and wages account should receive
the full appropriation, thus resulting in an
unencumbered balance of at least $180, 332 at year's
end ; and proposes that the projected balance be used
to purchase the three ambulances;
recommends Council approve and adopt Resolution 37 to transfer $180,000
from the Fire Department 's Salaries and Wages Account to their Equipment
Account for the purchase of three ambulances per agreement with the
Department of Health .
