LA, Comm. 158: SUPPORT FOR CONTINUED APPROPRIATION FOR LOSS OF
FUNDING UNDER FEDERAL-STATE MATCHING 'TITLE XX FUNDS
From Alice H. Kim, Workshop Manager, Hilo Vocational
Rehabilitation Center, dated February 25, 1981 asking
support in upcoming hearings in the Senate Health
and House Committees and Senate Human Resources
Committeeto help themsecure continued appropriation
for the loss of funding under the Federal-State
Matching Title XX Funds.. Informs the three Big
Island Sheltered Workshops (Hilo Vocational Rehabi-
litation Center, Brantley Center and Kona Krafts)
will lose. $121, 701 for Social Rehabilitation
affecting approximately 125 disabled individuals
annually;
recommends, Council approve therequest of the Hilo Vocational Rehabili-
tation Center and- that the Council Chairmanbe asked to send a letter,
on behalf of the County Council, to the State Legislature supporting
their request for appropriation to continue their vocational rehabili-
tation programs.
