Your Committee .,on Finance recommends the following:
,L)Re c. 1: LEASING OF KRE SS STORE BUILDING
<Pl/V/QP7-7 Recommends Amended Resolution 22, adopted by the County
Council on January 28, 1981, be rescinded and that the
Acting. Chairwoman of the Committee on. Finance appoint
a subcommittee to assist the Mayor in locating a
suitable facility for County purposes and that said
subcommittee submit a report of its findings at the
March. 18 Council meeting. (Schutte/De Luz)
Note: Councilmembers De Luz, Hale and Schutte were appointed to serve
on the subcommittee.

The Subcommittee of the Committee on Finance that was appointed
by Vice Chairwoman Merle K. Lai on March 11, to find a suitable
location for the Real Property Tax Division, met with the
administration and made checks of various government buildings.
The buildings that were looked at for tax service purposes could
be used with little or no remodeling.

It is the consensus of the Subcommittee that there ar`e sufficient
areas within the County's jurisdiction to allow for the location
of the tax division. It is the Subcommittee's recommendation that
those agencies that are presently occupying space that is deemed
suitable for the real property tax division's purposes be relocated
to other areas with the least amount of inconvenience as possible.
