Your Committee on Finance to which was referred:
L�Comm. 204 : SPECIAL COUNSEL REQUEST
From Corporation Counsel Stephen J. Menezes dated
March 24, 1981 requesting authorization to hire
special counselto represent Capt. Arthur A. Hoke, Jr. ,
at the deposition in the case of Marvin Wolsk, et al
vs. State of Hawaii , et al, Civil No. 62019 , First
Circuit Court. Informs Capt. Hoke has asked that
Stanley H. Roehrig be employed as his attorney and
believes $600 should be sufficient to cover these
services.
Because of Capt. Hoke' s pending lawsuit against the
County, the Office of Disciplinary Counsel has
advised that their office cannot represent him in
any manner;
recommends, pursuant to Section 5-2 .5 of the County Charter, Council
grant authorization to hire special counsel to represent Capt. Arthur A.
Hoke, Jr. , at the depositionin the case of Marvin Wolsk, et al vs.
State of Hawaii, et al, and that the expenditure shall not exceed $600 .
