(Bill 757) SUPERCOLD..FREEZER 'FACI:LITY
From Director of Finance Stanley A. Nakamae dated
July 20, 1981 submitting an ordinance bill to
appropriate $8,800 received from the State of
Hawaii and $211, 200 to be received from the
Economic Development Administration for
construction of a supercold freezer. Informs
this is a demonstration project to test the
feasibility of preserving local food products by
freezing them at sub-zero temperatures. The
Research & 'Development Department isadministering
the project through the initial stages, but actual
operation will be transferred to a non-profit
organization;
recommends communication with attached bill be referred to the
Committee on Economic Development to obtain additional information on
the supercold freezer facility from the Department" of Research and
Development®
