(Bill 782) 12 , HAWAII COUNTY CODE, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO
TAXICABS
From Director of Finance Stanley A. Nakamae dated
September 14 , 1981 informing the County Transportation
Commission recommends the adoption of the proposed
ordinance bill to amend Chapter 5 , Article 3 ,
Sections 11 and 12 , of the Hawaii County Code , making
it unlawful for any person not possessing a valid
County certificate of public convenience and necessity
to equip , carry or display on any motor vehicle any
taxi paraphernalia such as a taxi meter, fare box,
taxicab drivers permit or any sign or device that
identifies such vehicle as a taxicab.
Informs the purpose of this amendment is to facili-
tate enforcement of laws against unauthorized motor
vehicles which may mislead the public into believing
that such vehicle is a legitimate taxicab;
recommends Council approve and adopt Bill 782 on first reading.
