Your Committee on Finance to which was referred:
Comm. 488 : COST ITEMS -- FIRE FIGHTERS BARGAINING UNIT
JULY 1, 1981 TO JUNE 30 , 1983
From Mayor Herbert T. Matayoshi dated September 21,
1981 submitting for action, pursuant to Sections 89-10 (b)
and 89-11(d) , Hawaii Revised Statutes , the cost items
contained in the collective bargaining agreement between
the State of Hawaii, the City and County of Honolulu,
the County of Hawaii, the County of Maui, and the
County of Kauai, and the representatives of the Fire
Fighters bargaining unit , the Hawaii Fire Fighters
Association, Local 1463 , IAFF, AFL-CIO, contract
period from July 1, 1981 through June 30 , 1983 .
Informs the cost items are mandated by the arbitration
panel 's decision officially received on August 31,
1981, which is final and binding on both the union and
the Chief Executives , subject to approval of all
legislative bodies . This decision will require a
special fund appropriation;
pursuant to Sections 89-10 (b) and 89-11(d) , Hawaii Revised Statutes ,
recommends Council approve the cost items contained in the collective
bargaining agreement fo.r the Fire Fighters unit , contract period from
July 1, 1981 through June 30 , 1983 .
