Your Committee on Finance to which were referred:
Comm. 494 : REDEVCO
From County Clerk R. B. Legaspi dated September 24 ,
1981 submitting for information and files , copies
of the decision rendered by Judge Harold Y. Shintaku
in Civil No. 5872 , and Mr. Kazuhisa Abe ' s bill of
$10 , 128 for current services rendered.
Asks early consideration of Mr. Abe ' s request that
a Council decision be made as to what direction it
plans to take and his status , if any, in those plans ;
494. 1: From County Clerk R. B. Legaspi dated October 22 ,
1981 reporting, pursuant to FC-122 , the final
judgment was received on October 1, 1981 and
Mr. Abe will file the appeal within the 30-day
period. His fee would be the same as before
($100 per hour) but could not estimate at this
time the total cost of the appeal. Informs an
upper limit must be determined; otherwise the
required amendment to the existing contract cannot
be drawn;
recommends the communications be placed on file, with the understanding
that the contract with special counsel, Kazuhisa Abe, be terminated
upon final payment of $330.
