Your Committee on.Finance to which was referred:
4.4, Comm. 826 . 1 : SALARY ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
(Res . 405) OFFICE OF THE CORPORATION COUNSEL
From Corporation Counsel Stephen J. Menezes dated
June 14, 1982 informing Resolution 374-82 , amending
the Salary Ordinance of 1981 to adjust the salary
grades of deputies in his office, contains language
from which one could conclude that it amends both
the Salary Ordinance of 1981 and 1982 ; however, a
potential problem exists concerning the validity
of a resolution which attempts to amend an ordinance
not in existence at the time the resolution was
adopted.
Believes the most prudent course would be to adopt
a resolution amending the Salary Ordinance of 1982
and submits a resolution for this purpose;
recommends Council approve the adjustmentof pay grades of Deputy
Corporation Counsel positions in the Office of Corporation Counsel;
and that the accompanying Resolution 405 be adopted to accomplish this
purpose.
