IL. Comm. 77 .3 : IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 11 - AMENDMENT TO SPECIAL
(Bill 867) COUNSEL CONTRACT FOR SIGNATURE
From Corporation Counsel Stephen J. Menezes dated _
June 30 , 1982 seeking favorable consideration for a
further amendment authorizing that an additional sum
of $25 , 000 be appropriated for the services of
Mr. Alan M. Okamoto and the law firm of Nakamoto,
Yoshioka & Chillingworth, as special counsel with
regard to Improvement District No. 11, and submits
a proposed ordinance appropriating the necessary
funds .
Informs Mr. Okamoto has been negotiating with
representatives of American Showa and has been
moving towards strengthening the position of the
County and that the major problems connected with
I . D. 11 will be resolved by June or July of 1983;
recommends Council grant authorization to further amend the contract of
special counsel for Improvement District No. 11 and approve the
appropriation of an additional sum of $25 , 000 .
Further recommends Bill 867 be passed on first reading to accomplish the
above purpose.
