Comm. 850 : WAIVING OF PENALTY AND INTEREST OF REAL PROPERTY
TAXES OWED BY FORMER LESSEES OF STATE OF HAWAII
PROPERTY
From Director of Finance Stanley A. Nakamae dated
June 3, 1982 submitting for approval, pursuant to
the provisions of Section 3-12 of Ordinance 613 , a
proposal for compromise settlement of real property
taxes owed by James G. Y. Ho and Florence Ho, former
lessees of State of Hawaii property located at 161
Banyan Drive, Hilo. In view of the understanding of
all parties and the fact that the County would not be
able to sell the State property to collect taxes,
recommends the penalties and interest be waived. The
principal amount of taxes owed is $64, 785 . 71,
penalties total $6 ,478. 58 and interest totals $12,359 .87 .
I 850 . 1 : From Corporation Counsel Stephen J. Menezes dated
February 7 , 1983 responding to the real property tax,
penalty, and interest compromise request of James G. Y.
Ho and Florence Ho (C-850) ;
recommends , pursuant to the Corporation Counsel ' s opinion, that the
recommendation of the Finance Director to waive the penalties and interest
on real property taxes owed by James G. Y. and Florence Ho be accepted.
