Your Committee on Finance to which was referred:
Comm. 1257 : DONATION OF POLICE BAR LIGHT
From Rodney W. Leicht, President , Kona Crime
Prevention Committee, dated June 13 , 1983
informing they have donated a bar light, which
has already been installed on a police vehicle
in Kona, on a contingency basis pending Council
approval. The light has proved to be valuable
in public acceptance and in officer safety, as
the visibility of this light is vastly greater
than the single bubble blue light;
recommends , pursuant to Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter,
acceptance of the bar light from the Kona Crime Prevention Committee
for use by the Police Department in Kona.
Further recommends that the County Clerk write an appropriate letter
of thanks and appreciation on behalf of the County Council to the
donors .
