Comm. 1392: TRANSFER OF FUNDS TO SAFETY COORDINATOR'S PROGRAM TO
(Res. 769) PURCHASE BOOTH AND AUDIOMETER - OSHA STANDARDS
From Director of Finance Stanley A. Nakamae dated
October 11, 1983 , informing the Occupational Safety
and Health Division standards, Section 12-200 , 10 to
26 , requires that a continuing hearing conservation
program be established by employers. The program
requires, among other things, that hearing tests be
administered to employees working in an area that has
a noise level of 85 DBA, and submits a resolution to
transfer $4 ,000 to the Safety Coordinator ' s program to
purchase a soundproof booth and audiometer for testing
by the county physician of those employees exposed to
the 85 DBA noise level.
recommends Council approve and adopt Resolution 769 .
